Sorry about the radio silence for the last few weeks guys – you can probably imagine that Nobel Announcements have been keeping me rather busy (and I’ll try to blog about that this weekend).
Julie started a project called Speaking of Science which hosts “…a series of interviews that gives the science communicators of this world a space to tell you what they do, how they got involved, why they think its important.”
I was very flattered that she asked to interview me! So on Monday, 30th September, we met up in a coffee shop behind the Tate Modern and had it chat… that was also my 30th birthday, so talking to Julie started my day off well!

I really enjoyed talking to Julie about my travels in science communication – from the Science Challenge (where I went to NASA as an undergrad) and being a scientist and science ambassador at NPL, to my work with the Naked Scientists and now with Nobel Media. Julie herself is an excellent science communicator, so you should all have a look at her site (details above)!
My conclusions: I still sound really Irish, I speak really quickly, and I say REALLY a lot!
Hope you enjoy it
